Unique in Europa

Visit the highest water falls in Europe. In about 15min by car via the new Gerlospass street (toll) you will reach this unique austrian natural monument with a european diploma.

The first step of the upper falls has a height of 140m. Following a short shallow part, the so-called „Schönangerl“, the middle fall crashes 100m down. The third step of the lower falls is more than 140m high.

When you have arrived at the top you will find a fantastic view into the valley below. From here you can start various hiking tours into the mountains. Whether you just want to take in the view of the Krimmler Achental with the Tauernhaus or want to venture into the mountains – hiking fun is guaranteed!

With the Paracelsus medical private university of Salzburg a competent partner who has examined in the very promising subject "Asthma and Allergies" the remedial effects of the waterfall in Krimml in the period from 2006 to 2008 was found. Therefore was a "splash camp" made during July and August 2007 in Krimml, which a clinical study with 54 asthmatic children was carried out.

It was examined, whether the everyday one-hour stay in the Krimmler waterfalls asthma and allergy with children and youngsters in comparison to a control group for a period of three weeks improved.
